Research and Scholarship Leaves. a. Purpose It is University policy to grant research and scholarship leaves from instruc- tional and other teacher-related activities to eligible faculty members who meet the established criteria when such leaves will result in: (a) the scholarly enrichment and increased professional competence of the faculty member, (b) the faculty member’s increased value to the University, and (c) the enhancement of the University’s reputation in the academic community.
