Requesting Vacation. In general, employees may request Vacation at least 30 days in advance, so the Employer can make appropriate plans and adjust schedules. In the case of an unplanned or emergency event, the employee should notify their manager as soon as possible. In some cases, an employee may request time off without pay, but normally must use all Vacation time available before submitting such a request. Management will make every effort to accommodate an employee’s request for time off, but the needs of residents, patients, and time off previously scheduled by coworkers must be considered. If vacation is requested in advance, the Employer will approve or deny the request in writing within fourteen (14) calendar days of having received the written request. Vacation requests will be accepted in the order they were received; if Vacation requests are submitted on the same day, the Vacation request of the more senior employee takes priority.
