Common use of Record Retention and Audit Clause in Contracts

Record Retention and Audit. (a) The MA Health Plan agrees to maintain, and require its subcontractors to maintain, supporting information and documents that are adequate to ensure that payment is made in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements. These documents, including all original claims forms, will be maintained and retained by the MA Health Plan or its subcontractors for a period of ten (10) years after the expiration of the contract period or until the resolution of all litigation, claim, financial management review, or audit pertaining to this Agreement, whichever is longer. The MA Health Plan agrees to timely repay any undisputed audit exceptions taken by HHSC in any audit of the Agreement.
