Common use of Qualifying Purpose Clause in Contracts

Qualifying Purpose. The Act provides for leave with pay using applicable leave credits or without pay for a total of twelve (12) work weeks during a twelve (12) month period for one or more for the following reasons: 1. Because of the birth of a son or daughter of the employee and in order to care for such son or daughter (“parental leave”); 2. Because of the placement of a son or daughter with the employee for adoption or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ care (“parental leave”); 3. In order to care for the spouse, son, daughter, or parent of the employee, if such spouse, son, daughter or parent has a serious health condition as defined in the Act (“family care leave”); 4. Because of a serious health condition, as defined in the Act, that makes the employee unable to perform the functions of the position of the employee (“medical leave”).
