Common use of Public Involvement Clause in Contracts

Public Involvement. Public Involvement consists of comprehensive services in planning, scheduling, coordinating, conducting, documenting, and exhibit preparation for public involvement activities. These public involvement activities include but are not limited to Meetings with Affected Property Owners (MAPOs), public meetings, and steering committee meetings, stakeholder meetings, as well as developing media packets, maintaining public contact lists, public comment inventories, and associated summary reports. The ENGINEER shall perform the following tasks in public involvement:  Assist the State in conducting meetings with various agencies and to document and respond to issues related to the project’s study area.  Shall coordinate and assist the State’s Public Involvement Office (PIO) with any of their efforts regarding the project.  Participate in meetings with Affected Property Owners (MAPO) located within or near the project study area and stakeholder whose interest lays in the project study area.  Shall prepare the adjacent property owner list, mail out of meeting notices, notice of public meeting, draft letter to public officials, prepare and publish notices to major and local newspaper, reserve public meeting and hearing location, hire court reporter and law enforcement for public hearing, audio and visual rental equipment, and assist with conducting public meeting and hearing.  Assist in conducting public, steering committee, and stakeholder committee meetings during the project development process. The Engineer shall prepare exhibits, constraints maps, other necessary exhibits, and assist the State in the presentation.
