Common use of Probationary Period for Tenure Clause in Contracts

Probationary Period for Tenure. Tenure may only be granted at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. The minimum probationary period for tenure is five (5) years and the maximum is six (6) years. The probationary period commences with a regular appointment and will include at least three (3) years on the faculty at Central State University except for full Professors for whom the requirement is two (2) years. Part-time service will not be counted as part of the probationary period. Upon request of faculty member continuing to provide full-time service to the University, the tenure clock may be extended for no more than a combined total of one year under the following circumstances:
