This extension is typically used when the employer needs more time to assess the employee's performance or suitability for the role, often due to insufficient evidence or unforeseen circumstances during the initial period. By providing a formal mechanism for prolonging probation, the clause ensures both parties are clear about expectations and timelines, helping to avoid misunderstandings and allowing for a more informed decision on continued employment.
