Common use of Prime Time Clause in Contracts

Prime Time. Subject to the provisions of this Article, it is the intent of the Parties that no employee shall be restricted in the time of year he/she chooses to take his/her vacation entitlement. However, all employees shall be allowed to take up to four weeks of their vacation entitlement during the period May 1 to September inclusive, which shall be defined as the prime-time vacation period. Seniority Preference in Scheduling Employees shall have preference in respect to annual vacations, within their department and classification, according to seniority with a minimum of one employee in any classification having the right to schedule his/her vacation at anytime. Where an employee chooses to split vacation, his/her second choice of vacation time shall be made only after all other employees concerned have made their initial selection.
