Primary Workload Function. The fundamental foremost responsibility and priority of workload for members of the bargaining unit shall include the primary functions of is to engage in teaching, counseling, or serving as a librarian. These core duties are paramount and take precedence over all other activities. In addition, the workload may include, but not be limited to, a reasonable amount of the following professional responsibilities: preparation for classroom activities; evaluating student performance including test and/or paper correcting and grading; developing, assessing, and evaluating student learning outcomes and service area outcomes, holding office hours and providing course syllabus; maintenance and revision of existing course outlines and materials; participating in virtual or in person departmental, or division meetings; developing new courses or programs; professional development; participating in program review; participating in committees associated with 10+1 shared governance responsibilities; the timely and accurate submission of all required college registration documentation and final grades. Subordinate to these primary responsibilities, and only to be undertaken in a manner that does not detract from them, the workload may also include, serving on college standing, planning, and/or advisory committees virtually or in person; developing new courses or programs; maintenance and revision of existing course outlines and materials, participating in virtual or in person college, departmental, or division meetings; participating in program review, accreditation and any assessment and planning activities required for the successful continuing operation of the college; sponsoring student clubs and activities; helping to plan and approve students' programs; and the timely and accurate submission of all required college registration documentation and final grades; and/or other approved activities/committees. If all items in the package are not accepted by the District, IVCFA reserves the right to revert to the last proposal presented prior to 12/12/24
