Common use of Plain Clothes Allowance Clause in Contracts

Plain Clothes Allowance. Each sworn officer covered by this agreement who is required to provide and wear ordinary clothing to perform their duties shall be reimbursed by the Employer for expenses incurred in the purchase of such clothing. Such reimbursement shall be paid quarterly in an amount not to exceed one thousand and twenty-five dollars ($1,025) per annum. In recognition of the requirement by the Employer to provide the plain clothes allowance in the previous agreements, unless otherwise mutually agreed or changed during subsequent negotiations, all sworn officers covered by this Agreement on March 28, 1996, shall be considered to be required to provide and wear ordinary clothing to perform their duties and are therefore entitled to the plain clothes allowance. For sworn officers who enter the bargaining unit after March 28, 1996, the clothing allowance would only be provided when designated by the Employer.
