Common use of Period of Validity of Bids Clause in Contracts

Period of Validity of Bids. 18.1. Bids shall remain valid for the Bid Validity period specified in the BDS. The Bid Validity period starts from the date fixed for the Bid submission deadline (as prescribed by the Procuring Agency in accordance with ITB 22.1). A Bid valid for a shorter period shall be rejected by the Procuring Agency as nonresponsive. 18.2. In exceptional circumstances, prior to the expiration of the Bid validity period, the Procuring Agency may request Bidders to extend the period of validity of their Bids. The request and the responses shall be made in writing. If a Bid Security is specified in the BDS, it shall also be extended for a corresponding period. A Bidder may refuse the request to extend without forfeiting its Bid Security. A Bidder granting the request shall not be required or permitted to modify its Bid, except as provided in ITB 18.3. 18.3. Deleted.
