The Partial Day Low Census clause defines how a facility or service provider handles situations where the number of clients or patients present for only part of a day falls below a predetermined threshold. Typically, this clause outlines the financial or operational adjustments that will be made, such as prorated charges or modified staffing requirements, when occupancy is low for a portion of the day. Its core function is to ensure fair and predictable billing or resource allocation, protecting both parties from unexpected costs or inefficiencies due to fluctuating attendance.
Partial Day Low Census i. The nurse will be placed on standby for the patient care unit and/or cluster (for those units in a cluster) for a portion of the shift and will be given a scheduled time to report to work for a portion of the shift at the nurse’s straight-time hourly rate.
Partial Day Low Census. If a nurse is assigned to partial day Low Census (with standby or without standby) and is scheduled to report to work for any portion of a 12-hour shift, the nurse will be paid the nurse’s regular hourly rate for hours worked during such period. If a nurse on standby is called into work, the standby provisions of this contract will apply.
