Common use of Overtime Authorization Clause in Contracts

Overtime Authorization. All overtime requests must have the prior authorization of a supervisor prior to the commencement of such overtime work. Where verbal authorization is obtained, written authorization must be obtained as soon thereafter as practicable. Dispatched calls beyond the end of duty time are considered as authorized. An employee's failure to obtain prior written approval, or explicit verbal authorization followed by written authorization, will result in the denial of the overtime request. The overtime slip constitutes written authorization.
