Obtaining Substitutes. It shall be the responsibility of the administration to make every effort to obtain substitutes for regular classroom teachers, for specialists where necessary, and for auxiliary personnel where requested by the supervising teacher. A teacher shall not be responsible for obtaining a substitute.
Obtaining Substitutes. Under no circumstances shall a bargaining unit employee have an obligation to obtain a substitute when the bargaining unit employee is not going to be at work for any reason.
Obtaining Substitutes. The Administration is responsible to obtain qualified substitute teachers for both regular classroom positions and for all specialists. Teacher preference shall be considered when obtaining a substitute. The legal obligation of the District to provide certified substitutes over uncertified substitutes when available is recognized. Teachers may fill in for their fellow professionals if it does not infringe upon other terms and conditions of employment as outlined in this contract. Every effort will be made to secure substitutes. Only in an emergency will a teacher be asked to "fill in" for an absent teacher and then only for one period.
Obtaining Substitutes. Whenever a teacher is absent a substitute shall be obtained in a method as approved by the individual building principals. Under ordinary circumstances, only certified substitutes shall be hired.

Obtaining Substitutes. School building secretaries who are assigned by their principals the task of obtaining substitutes shall receive an annual stipend of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for such assignment. Payment of the $500 stipend shall be made in December of each year.

No regular teacher with six (6) contact periods shall be responsible to supervise an extra class or part of an extra class except with the consent of the teacher.
Obtaining Substitutes. 9.5.1 Teacher Notice to District Teachers unable to attend to their school duties for any of the above stated reason, or otherwise, shall notify the District per the system in place (e.g., electronic absence management system) as far in advance as possible stating the probable duration of their absence so that a substitute can be obtained.
