Multiple Classifications. (a) An employee will be able to elect to be placed on the classification seniority list of any and all classifications within their own department via Article 17 and will maintain classification seniority from the date they are a successful applicant. (b) An employee will be able to elect to be eligible for auxiliary work in classifications in other departments. Employees will notify the Employer of such an election and it will be denoted on the Service Seniority List. (c) Regardless of what classification seniority lists an employee is on, they shall receive the rate of pay of the classification they actually work. (d) When scheduling employees by classification, the Employer shall in order: (1) exhaust the classification seniority list; (2) exhaust all auxiliary work eligible employees from within the department that can reasonably perform the duties in order of seniority; (3) exhaust all auxiliary work eligible employees from all other departments that can reasonably perform the duties in order of seniority. (e) Employees assigned auxiliary work will not be assigned a classification seniority date. (f) The Employer is not required to offer auxiliary work to an employee who is required to work in a classification in which they have a classification seniority date. (g) When calling out as per Article 21.1(a), the Employer shall call out classifications in the order they appear in Appendix A by department.
