Meal Program. FSMC shall provide nutritional breakfasts, lunches, milk service, vending and a la carte items in accordance with the following terms and conditions: The planned twenty one (21) day menu cycle must be provided by the FSMC to the SFA and for the first twenty one (21) days of the contract shall be implemented without change. Any and all changes after the first twenty one (21) days shall be submitted in writing. A revised twenty one (21) day menu cycle has been provided by the FSMC to the SFA and has been approved by the SFA. The revised twenty one (21) day menu cycle is attached hereto as Schedule 5. FSMC must provide written menus sixty (60) days prior to service. Any and all alternate menus, menu items, menu changes must be approved by the SFA in writing ten (10) business days prior to serving. FSMC must plan and provide written documentation to the SFA for review that all menus are reimbursable, including all promotional specialty menus planned. FSMC must document that individual school’s advisory councils recommendations are considered in menu planning. Menus must be posted six (6) weeks in advance of meal services. Printed menus must be distributed to all school levels. SFA’s approval of the menus or menu components shall not excuse the FSMC of any nonconformity with applicable laws or regulations. All meals shall conform to the meal planning requirements found in 7 CFR 220.8 as amended. The quality of food served shall be of such condition to be pleasing, appealing, appetizing, palatable and of such color, texture, size, shape and temperature as is appropriate to the food items served. FSMC shall offer food items that meet or exceed the quantitative and nutrient requirements of the SFA, the national School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Summer Food Service Program, the After School Snack Program, and the policies and regulations of any other applicable regulatory authority in whose program the SFA may decide to participate, as applicable. Meals must meet federal nutrition standards for reimbursable lunches as required under 7 CFR 210 and meet such standards as to be eligible to receive the $.06 incentive payments as provided in the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ National School Lunch Act. From time to time the SFA may direct FSMC to make reasonable changes in the development of FSMC menu or any component of such cycle menus to enhance consumer satisfaction or to respond to consumer suggestions and FSMC shall implement such changes within such time as the SFA may reasonably request. Snacks must contain two of the four food components: meat/meat alternate, fruit, vegetables, grains and mil and be consistent with meal and nutrition requirements of 7 CFR 226 as amended. Afterschool snacks shall conform to the meal planning requirements found in 7 CFR 210.10 as amended. Meals served as part of the supper on site programs shall conform to the meal planning requirements found in 7 CFR 226.20 as amended Each of the breakfasts, lunches, snacks, Contract Meals, Non-Reimbursable Meals and Non- Reimbursable Snacks and a la carte items shall be priced, respectively, as a unit.
