Librarian I. A Librarian I shall have a master’s degree in Library Science or its equivalent as a minimum qualification.
Librarian I possession of a Master's Degree in Library or Information Science or its equivalent, or a combination of Bachelor's Degree in Library or Information Science and relevant professional experience equivalent to a Master's Degree;
Librarian I. A Librarian I holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent, and demonstrates achievement or the promise of achievement in librarianship and a combination of research and scholarship and service to the University and/or external professional bodies. There should be well-developed interpersonal skills, strong information technology skills, and clear promise of continuing professional development.
Librarian I. This rank requires an individual hold a Master's Degree (or equivalent) from an American Library Association accredited programme. This is the normal terminal degree for Professional Librarians. The rank of Librarian I is assigned to persons just entering librarianship. Little or no professional Library experience is required, however, the individual will have demonstrated an understanding of the basic tenets of librarianship and a potential for professional growth. The emphasis at this rank is on the continuing acquisition of knowledge and skills, demonstration of increased competence, and professional development.
Librarian I. 2.2.1 An earned master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science or relevant area/discipline from an accredited institution.
Librarian I. A master’s degree in librarianship (or an appropriate fifth year degree) shall normally be expected.
Librarian I. The rank of Librarian I shall be an introductory rank reserved for library school graduates with no professional experience. A professional librarian employee appointed to the Librarian I rank shall hold either a preliminary or term appointment and shall normally serve in that rank for the period of one (1) year.
Librarian I. A Librarian who holds this rank has a professional degree from an accredited school of library and/or information studies or its equivalent and has demonstrated evidence of potential in the required duties and responsibilities.
Librarian I. To be eligible for the rank of Librarian I, a professional librarian must hold the master’s degree from an ALA accredited institution in library science or information science and have three (3) years of effective and relevant experience. To be eligible for promotion to Librarian II the unit member must have at least five (5) years of effective and relevant experience directly related to his/her anticipated responsibilities at Delaware State University.
Librarian I. To qualify for appointment to the rank of Librarian I, a candidate shall have the minimum qualifications as outlined in Art. 16.14(a).
