Common use of Implementation of a Program Clause in Contracts

Implementation of a Program. Whenever it is appropriate, in the judgment of the Company, to implement a Voluntary Program of Reduced Hours, the appropriate CP4 manager or the next higher level of management, as the case may be, will, following notification to the Union, circulate to the groups concerned within his District, a notice advising of the Program's availability and requesting that eligible employees who are interested in being reclassified submit their request within a specified time period. An eligible employee who elects to be voluntarily reclassified shall reach an understanding with her immediate manager regarding the duration, location, work assignment and conditions applicable to such reclassification to a Part-time position. Notwithstanding the possibility that under such a Program the Part-time position offered to the employee may be in another District, the responsibility for administration of the Program remains with the originating District. Once the manager and the employee have come to an understanding, the terms and conditions of such shall be confirmed to the employee in writing and a copy shall be given to the Representative of the Union. Where applicable, additional copies of this understanding will also be provided to the manager and the Representative of the Union in the receiving District.
