If an employee’s illness requires absence of greater than five (5) consecutive business days (forty [40] hours), the employee may apply for Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits. The first five (5) business days (forty [40] hours) are considered the “waiting period” under the STD benefit. The time used during the “waiting period” will be deducted from the employee’s Illness Days.

Sick Days for Food Service Specialists The number of sick days for Food Service Specialists shall increase from three (3) to six (6), of which two (2) can be used for Personal Business which otherwise cannot be handled during non-work hours, to be effective following final ratification and Financial Review Commission approval of this agreement. B. An employee not able to return to work following four (4) consecutive days of absences for Personal illness may be required to furnish a statement from his/her physician on the fifth day of her/his absence from work on the appropriate District form(s) before returning to his/her assignment and in order to secure his/her pay check. The employee may be required to have a medical examination by the District’s designated Physician before returning to his/her assignment. C. Short term leaves of absence may be granted consistent with Board of Education policy. D. If an employee is absent for five consecutive days, he/she will be sent a certified letter by the school principal or immediate supervisor, with a copy to Human Resources requesting her/him to contact the Human Resources within a five day period. Failure to do so, the employee shall be considered a quit and employment will be terminated by the Board. E. If an employee is absent more than fifteen days within a year, she/he will be terminated. The employee will receive a written warning notice after the tenth absence apprising them of the situation. The Union representative shall be present. F. Upon written request, the District may grant a leave of absence for a period not to exceed one (1) year. The District will terminate an employee who has been unable to work for one continuous year.

  • Business Days If any time period for giving notice or taking action hereunder expires on a day which is a Saturday, Sunday or holiday in the state in which the Company’s chief executive office is located, the time period shall be automatically extended to the business day immediately following such Saturday, Sunday or holiday.

  • Days Unless specified otherwise, any period of days mandated under a Note or this Revenue Sharing Agreement shall be determined by reference to calendar days, not business days, except that any payments, notices, or other performance falling due on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal government holiday shall be considered timely if paid, given, or performed on the next succeeding business day.

  • Lieu Days Where an employee is granted a lieu day pursuant to Clause 17.3 or 17.4 of this Agreement, the time off granted will be seven (7) hours per lieu day for a full-time employee and prorated for a part-time employee.

  • Bereavement Days A. All employees may use up to (5) sick days for bereavement days for deaths in the immediate family. Immediate Family is defined as spouse, children, grandchildren, brother, sister, parents, grandparents and parent-in-law, brother/sister-in-law except that a relative living in the same household may, for the purpose of this section, be considered as of the immediate family. Two (2) of the sick days will not be chargeable to the employee's sick day bank. B. All employees may use up to five (5) sick days for illness in the immediate family. The employer may require verification of illness. Immediate family includes spouse and children.

  • Working Days Without prejudice to clause 9.1, where the Authority funds the delivery of this Contract using European Social Fund (ESF) funds or in its role as a Co-financing Organisation uses this contract as a match for ESF provision, either at the outset of the contract or at any point during the life of the contract, the Contractor and any Sub-contractors appointed by it shall be bound by the corresponding additional requirements detailed within relevant Contractor Guidance, including the maintaining of records until at least 31 December 2023.
