Bereavement Days definition

Bereavement Days. A maximum of five (5) days leave per incident will be paid at the discretion of the supervisor. Bereavement time is not cumulative.
Bereavement Days as per occurrence: a. Up to five (5) days shall be granted in the event of the death of immediate Family (i.e. spouse, children, parents, siblings, in-laws, grandparents Grandchildren, and any person living in the home of the teacher} b. Up to one (1) day for the extended family of the teacher.(i.e. aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew) c. In the event of the death of an employee or student in the district, An appropriate number of teachers (not to exceed 10%) shall be granted sufficient release time to attend the funeral. d. Additional days not to exceed one (1) may be granted by the CSA in the case of the death of a niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law.

Examples of Bereavement Days in a sentence

  • Bereavement Days - Death in the Immediate Family Bus drivers shall be given three (3) bereavement days per death per year and shall be non- cumulative.

  • Bereavement Days used shall be deducted from accumulated leave days.

  • Bereavement Days: Bargaining unit members shall be granted three (3) consecutive days in case of the death of each member of the immediate family.

  • Said Bereavement Days need not be taken contiguously and may be taken in quarter-day increments.

  • Paid Holidays Bereavement Days Jury Duty The following days will not count toward meeting the 40-hour work week requirement for overtime eligibility.

  • Bereavement Days must be used in conjunction with the funeral – ie.

  • The Bereavement Days shall be taken within sixty (60) calendar days of the date of passing.

  • Bereavement Days shall not be considered in the calculation of an employee's attendance rating.

  • The EMPLOYER and UNION agree that approval of additional Bereavement Days is at the sole discretion of the Human Resources Employment Specialist or designee and is not subject to the grievance procedures outlined in Article 23 of this agreement.

  • Bereavement Days will accumulate to a combined maximum of 250 days.

Related to Bereavement Days

  • School Days means actual school attendance days during the regular academic school year including a partial day that students are in attendance at school for instructional purposes as adopted by the district or governing body of the school not to include weekends, holidays, summer school, etc.

  • Paid sick leave – means paid leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.
