The employee is formally admitted as an “in-patient” on a physician’s order for at least 24 hours; or they undergo a surgical procedure or any other corrective treatment requiring anaesthesia, sedatives or narcotics on an out- patient basis in a hospital or doctor’s or dentist’s office, and they are unable, as verified in writing by the attending physician or dentist, to return to work.
