Common use of HOLIDAYS AND PERSONAL DAYS Clause in Contracts

HOLIDAYS AND PERSONAL DAYS. Section 1 – All employees covered by this Agreement shall receive eight (8) hours of pay (ten (10) hours if assigned to a ten (10) hour shift) at their regular hourly rate for the following holidays, regardless of the day of the week on which the holiday falls. Employees must have worked their scheduled day before and after the holiday to be paid unless they are excused. For the purposes of this Article, an excused absence consists of verified illness, injury or death in the immediate family, jury duty, vacations or an absence approved by the City. Such excused absence must be documented.
