Common use of Health and Accident Insurance Clause in Contracts

Health and Accident Insurance. 1. An employee shall have the right to participate in the City’s group insurance program in effect during the term of this Agreement, or as may hereinafter be altered by the parties through negotiations. Part time employees working a minimum of twenty-five (25) hours per week for the City may also be included in the group insurance plan; however, temporary employees shall not be included. Any employee on leave of absence from the City may continue to carry City group insurance by making full premium payments. The change in selection of a company or agency to carry such group insurance shall be the responsibility of the City Council. The City agrees to establish a health insurance committee consisting of a member of each of its employee’s associations for the purpose of monitoring the satisfaction of its employees with the program and to become aware of any changes to the program.
