FORCE REDUCTION. 5.01: The Union recognizes that the Board’s decision as to whether there shall be a layoff will be based on the Board’s business judgment. 5.01.01 In the event of layoff, Central Office representatives will meet and inform Union representatives of the reduction(s) to be made. 5.01.02 Seasonal and temporary employees as provided for in this Agreement, shall be laid off first, then probationary employees shall be laid off. 5.01.03 The above layoff procedures do not apply to the normal reduction of the work force during the time school is not in session during the summer months. 5.02: The Employer shall notify in writing the employee(s) to be laid off at least ten (10) calendar days before such layoff. 5.03: The Employer shall provide the Chapter Chairperson and the Chapter Secretary a copy of the layoff notice at the same time the notice is sent to the employee(s) affected.
