Float Pool Premium. Any full time or part time nurse with regularly scheduled shifts and hours designated to the Float Pool, shall receive a five dollar ($5.00) per hour premium for all hours worked as a Float Pool nurse as part of the nurse’s regular rate of pay.

Float Pool Premium. Employees who are regularly assigned to a designated float pool and who float on a daily basis between medical centers (Primary Care) or between specialties (Specialty) will receive two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour premium following six (6) months from their date of hire into the float pool.

Float positions will be filled under the posting procedures of 29 Article 6, Section 4 by nurses with appropriate training, competency and ability to work 30 in multiple units (as per Float Pool Guidelines # PCS 217) to allow needed staffing 31 flexibility to accommodate patient census fluctuations. The hospital determines the 1 number of Float Pool RN positions, when to post positions and the FTE equivalent 2 hours sufficient to meet changing needs of hospital.
Float Pool Premium. Effective February 6, 2016 CNAs and Unit Secretaries assigned to the Float Pool will be paid one dollar seventy-five cents ($1.75) per hour for hours worked in the Float Pool. Effective July 1, 2017, the Float Pool premium shall increase to two dollars twenty-five cents ($2.25) per hour for hours worked in the Float Pool.
Float Pool Premium. Non-exempt (hourly) employees who are hired into a designated float position will receive Float Pool Premium Pay. Premium will terminate upon employee’s transfer or reclassification in to a non-float pool position. Float Pool RNs will participate in Low Census/On-call assignment rotations a separate Float Pool Unit working under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor. A Float Pool RN may not bump other nurses from their regularly scheduled shift unless a regularly scheduled RN volunteers for Low Census / On-call assignment under the provisions regarding Low Census rotation in Article 5, Section 6. These positions will not be available to the staff for replacement of requested days off or vacation coverage unless agreed upon by the manager overseeing the assignment of the float pool staff and the requesting RN’s manager.
