Common use of First Warning Clause in Contracts

First Warning. If the employee does not improve his/her performance and/or behaviour, the manager may issue the employee with a First (written) Warning. The employee is to be advised of his/her option of having their Union Delegate or other nominated representative present when the warning is given. The warning is to be confirmed in writing and provided to the employee. A copy of the warning is to be placed on the employee’s personal file.
