Common use of Family Bereavement and Compassionate Leave Clause in Contracts

Family Bereavement and Compassionate Leave. (A) When there is a death of a family member of an employee or his/her spouse, the employee concerned shall be entitled to up to five (5) days of bereavement leave with full salary and benefits. The employee concerned shall notify the Office of the Vice-President, Academic and Research that such leave will be taken. The term "family member" means children, parents, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren.
