Familiarization Period. (a) Upon assignment the employee shall be granted a familiarization period of a maximum of forty-five (45) days actually worked during which period the employee may return, or be returned by NAV CANADA to their former position. (b) During the forty-five (45) day familiarization period, if the position requires relocation under the NAV CANADA Travel Program and Relocation Program, the employee shall be on travel status as provided for in the Program. No relocation expenses shall be paid during this period unless mutually agreed otherwise. In this latter case, the return rights shall be extinguished.

(a) the parties may agree to waive or extend the familiarization period;
(b) During the forty-five (45) day familiarization period, if the position requires relocation under the NAV CANADA Travel Program and Relocation Program, the employee shall be on travel status as provided for in the Program. No no relocation expenses shall be paid during this the familiarization period unless mutually agreed otherwise. In this the latter case, case the return rights shall be extinguished;
(c) the employee shall receive travel expenses during the familiarization period.
