Faculty Workweek. A. Each full-time instructional faculty member will be responsible for a combined total of twenty-five (25) weekly class hours and office hours. Every instructional faculty member will teach fifteen (15) classroom contact hours per week in each of the Fall and Spring terms or their equivalent. Each term will consist of an average of eighty (80) potential class and examination days during a period of time not to exceed seventeen (17) weeks in duration, or a total of not more than 165 scheduled class days. Faculty will be required to participate in scheduled departmental, discipline, and college-wide or campus or division-related activities, and to perform any other duties required to fulfill their instructional or programmatic obligations as delineated elsewhere in this article. Faculty Workweek. The workweek of a full-time instructional faculty member shall be thirty hours per week, excluding time for any extra pay courses. Each faculty member employed on a full-time basis must be on duty each duty day in a given term except for approved leave. Duty days may vary among faculty based on their instructional assignments and office hours as approved by their administrative supervisor. The equivalent of 15 hours per week shall be spent in course instruction. 10 hours per week shall be spent in office hours, or a number needed to bring the total hours spent in instruction and office hours to 25 per week, whichever is less. The remaining hours may be used to fulfill instructional and programmatic obligations as outlined in this Article, or for participati campus, or of the College itself. For post-secondary adult vocational or technical credit faculty member, a minimum of 20 hours per week for instruction and a minimum of 10 hours per week for office hours and for such activities as student appointments, committee meetings, and College activities is required.
Faculty Workweek. A. Each term will consist of an average of seventy-eight (78) potential class and examination days during a period of time not to exceed sixteen (16) weeks in duration, or a total of not more than 155 scheduled class days over two semesters.

  • Faculty Workload The workload of faculty includes student advising, maintaining and improving expertise in a discipline and in pedagogy, serving on departmental and university committees, contributing to student growth and development, evaluating student performance, scholarly activities, and service to university and community, as well as teaching and class preparation. Additionally, as a professional, a faculty member shall devote a substantial amount of his/her workload to course preparation, research, the maintenance of professional expertise, innovations in teaching/learning and other similar activities. These endeavors shall comprise the faculty member’s workload.

  • Workday/Workweek A. The normal workweek for each full-time employee shall be forty (40) hours.

  • Normal Workweek The normal workweek shall consist of five (5) days, eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • Standard Workweek Except as noted below the standard workweek for full-time employees consists of five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days, Monday through Friday each week. Non-overtime hours and starting and quitting times for such employees shall be the same throughout the standard workweek. The standard workweek does not apply to the following:

  • Flexible Working Hours The Employer will, where operational requirements and efficiency of the service permit, authorize experiments with flexible working hours if the Employer is satisfied that an adequate number of Employees have requested and wish to participate in such an experiment.

  • Time Worked For purposes of computing the eight (8) hour day or the forty (40) hour week to determine entitlement to overtime pay, all sick leave, vacation leave, and holidays shall count as time worked to be added to other hours worked.

  • Normal Workday The normal workday shall consist of eight (8) consecutive hours of work within a twenty-four (24) hour period.

  • Basic Workweek The basic workweek for full-time employees shall be forty (40) hours, consisting of five (5) eight (8) hour days. Commencing with their fifth (5th) week of employment, full-time employees shall receive forty (40) hours pay at straight time rates and shall work four (4) days, thirty-two (32) hours, including work on the statutory holiday, in a week in which one (1) statutory holiday occurs; three (3) days, twenty-four

  • Workweek and Workday 1. The normal workweek shall consist of not more than five (5) consecutive days and not more than forty (40) hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. The regular workday shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours per day. Nothing in this Article shall be deemed to restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.
