Common use of Extra Runs Clause in Contracts

Extra Runs. A. Extra runs will be offered to contracted drivers in accordance with driver classification seniority. B. Identified extra runs will be communicated to all drivers in writing via email and text message when the Director of Transportation becomes aware of an extra run. Trip location and all available information will be shared in this initial communication. C. Drivers must indicate their interest in driving extra runs to the Director of Transportation in writing within forty-eight (48) hours of the initial communication regarding the extra run(s). D. Following notification of interest to the Director of Transportation, extra runs outside the District will be offered to the drivers that expressed interest in the runs on a rotating basis in descending order of driver seniority. Extra runs within the District will be offered in accordance with driver seniority without rotation.
