Common use of Experience Adjustments Clause in Contracts

Experience Adjustments. Each teacher who is eligible for an increment shall, on September 1 or February 1 immediately following the establishment of such eligibility, be placed on the next higher step of the basic salary schedule for the appropriate category of teacher education. For the purpose of this clause, teaching experience shall mean the days under contract (continuing, probationary, part-time, interim and temporary) to a board in a position which requires a teaching certificate as a condition of employment, excluding leaves of absence without salary and vacation periods. Teaching experience shall also mean the days spent substitute teaching beginning August 28, 2000.
