Equipment Operators. Only employees of the Authorized User who are qualified and trained in the safe operation of the Heavy Equipment shall be permitted to operate the Heavy Equipment. The Authorized User shall provide and pay for all workers’ compensation insurance and pay all payroll taxes required by law and applying to such operators.

These tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: loading biosolids into an application vehicle from a nurse tank or trailer (including connecting/disconnecting transfer hoses and operating controls at the applicator), operating the biosolids application vehicle in a safe and respectful manner, daily placement of traffic control sign at the field application sites, assisting with routine applicator maintenance, assisting with field setup activities including placement of nurse tanks, marking setbacks from homes and xxxxx using information provided by the District, completing and turning in daily logs and/or trip tickets on a daily basis, assisting with providing District information to area homeowners and interested citizens on an “as needed” basis, cleaning the applicator when appropriate, and maintaining the field site in a clean and orderly fashion. The District’s application vehicles use a computerized nutrient management system; the ability to operate and input data into a computer system is a requirement of the applicator operator. The ability to measure distance using a range finder, and complete acreage and load calculations is required. Consistent and timely communication with Metrogro staff is crucial to success.
