- Energized Circuits Sample Clauses

The 'Energized Circuits' clause defines the rules and safety requirements for working on or near electrical circuits that are live or carrying current. Typically, this clause outlines procedures such as de-energizing circuits before work begins, using appropriate personal protective equipment, and implementing lockout/tagout protocols to prevent accidental energization. Its core function is to protect workers from electrical hazards by ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken when dealing with energized electrical systems, thereby reducing the risk of injury or fatality.
- Energized Circuits. On energized circuits or equipment carrying 480 volts or more, there shall be a minimum of two (2) Journeyman employed.
- Energized Circuits. 8 On all energized circuits of four hundred and eighty (480) volts or over, as a safety measure, 9 two (2) or more Journeymen of the proper classification must work together, except for 10 testing or replacing fuses.
- Energized Circuits. Due to safety considerations, the "buddy system" is to be used. A qualified technician, doing the work, will be partnered with a safety observer for portions of or the total duration of the task or shift in the following circumstances: 1. When working on energized circuits with hazardous shock potential. 2. When working in hazardous locations as predetermined by Safety. Employees working alone in remote locations or on off-shift, but not working on energized circuits or in hazardous locations as predetermined by Safety, will be checked on periodically according to a procedure that will be established by the company.
- Energized Circuits. On all energized circuits of 600 volts or greater, as a safety measure, two journeymen, must work together or a journeyman and a "hot" apprentice.
