Common use of Eligibility for Detective Assignments Clause in Contracts

Eligibility for Detective Assignments. An employee is not eligible for detective assignments unless he/she has completed four (4) years of commissioned service; however, if there is no qualified employee with four (4) or more years of commissioned service who applies for the detective assignment, the assignment may be filled with an employee with less than four (4) years of commissioned service. Detective position vacancies shall be filled by first allowing detectives within the division qualified to perform the work to apply for lateral transfer. Transfer approval shall be at the discretion of the division commander. Remaining vacancies will be filled according to the current detective selection process.
