Educational. The Town may allow a leave of absence without pay up to twelve (12) months for educational purposes. The Town will return the employee to the employee's former position if it is feasible to do so. If this is not feasible, the employee will be placed in a position at the same rate of pay and on the same shift as determined by the Department Manager. The employee will be given the first opportunity to return to a position for which the employee is fully qualified and will be given the first opportunity to return to the employee's former position, provided they are fully qualified, if and when the position is open.
