Dues Check. OFF The Board agrees to deduct, once each pay period, dues and assessments in an amount certified to be current by the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union from the pay of those employees who authorize in writing that such deductions be made. All employees shall file authorization forms with The Board, signed by each employee prior to such deduction. The Board shall forward the sum total of all dues deductions to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union no more than five (5) business days after each payday. If, during the life of this Agreement, there will be any change in the rate of the Employee's dues, the Union will furnish the Board written notice thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of such change. Any employee who is not a member of the Union shall, as a condition of employment, pay a bi-weekly service charge equivalent to eighty-five percent (85 %) of the dues and assessments paid by a member of the Union. The purpose of this is to offset the employee's cost of services rendered by the Union as a majority representative. Pursuant to the Agency Shop Law, any new employee in the bargaining unit on the effective day of this Agreement who does not join the Union within thirty days (30) of initial employment within the bargaining unit and any employee previously employed within the unit who does not join within ten (10) days of reentry into employment with the unit shall as a condition of employment pay a representation fee to the Union by automatic payroll deduction. Employees who fail to meet this requirement shall be disengaged. The Union will provide to the Board, a copy of its demand and return system and the Union shall indemnify, defend, and save the Board harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that shall arise out of, or by reason of action taken by the Board in reliance upon salary deduction authorization cards or the bi-weekly service charge information as furnished by the Union to the Board, or in reliance upon the official notification on the letterhead of the Union and signed by the President of the Union, advising of such changed deductions.

Dues Check. OFF OFF 4:01 No member shall be required to join the Association as a condition of employment. The Board agrees to deduct, University shall deduct dues once every pay period from the salary of each pay period, dues and assessments in an amount certified to be current by the Secretary-Treasurer member of the Union from the pay bargaining unit. It is also agreed to exclude those members appointed in accordance with Senate Bylaws as Acting Executive ▇▇▇▇, Acting Associate Executive ▇▇▇▇, Acting Assistant Executive ▇▇▇▇, Acting Administrative ▇▇▇▇ of Student and Academic Services and Registrar, Acting ▇▇▇▇, Acting Associate ▇▇▇▇, or Acting Assistant ▇▇▇▇, and those employees who authorize members appointed in writing that such deductions be made. All employees shall file authorization forms accordance with The Boardthis Agreement as Acting University Librarian, signed by each employee prior to such deduction. The Board shall forward the sum total of all dues deductions to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union no more than five (5) business days after each payday. The University shall make available, monthly, to the Association, a list stating the name, rank, status (e.g., limited term appointment, regular full-time, tenured), amount of dues deducted, AAU, (in the case of multi-disciplinary AAUs, the member’s location within thirty days (30the AAU) and date of initial employment appointment of each member within the bargaining unit and any employee previously employed within the unit who does not join within ten (10) days of reentry into employment unit. The University shall with the list aforesaid provide the total number of bargaining unit members in each rank and the names of all members who have ceased to be employees of the University. 4:03 At the time that Income Tax T4 slips are provided to each member by the University, the University shall as a condition of employment pay a representation fee indicate on the T4 slips or separately in writing to each member, the deductions from his/her salary under this Article 4. The University undertakes to continue to deduct contributions to the Union by automatic payroll deduction. Employees Faculty Association Scholarship Fund from the salaries of members who fail so authorize the University to meet this requirement shall be disengaged. The Union will provide do so in writing and to remit the amounts so deducted to the Board, Association on a copy monthly basis with a list of its demand and return system names of the contributors and the Union shall indemnify, defend, amount of authorized deductions remitted on behalf of the same. 4:04 The Association does hereby indemnify and save harmless the Board harmless University against any and all claims, demands, suits actions arising out of the wrongful deductions of money for dues or other forms assessments as aforesaid resulting from the instructions of liability that the Association. 4:05 The University shall arise out of, or by reason endeavour to adjust the amount of action taken dues deducted from each member within one (1) month of written notification by the Board Association of any changes in reliance upon salary deduction authorization cards monthly dues or the bi-weekly service charge information as furnished by the Union to the Board, or in reliance upon the official notification on the letterhead of the Union and signed by the President of the Union, advising of such changed deductionsother assessments.
