Common use of Doctor’s Note Clause in Contracts

Doctor’s Note. In the case of absences for illness in excess of three consecutive days, a certificate from a physician, or if the treatment is by prayer or spiritual means, from the advisor or practitioner of such employee's faith, shall be required as a basis of pay during such leave. In any instance when a supervisor has a reasonable suspicion that an employee is abusing sick leave, he or she may demand a physician certificate after an absence of one day.
