District Notification. On or before February 1, October 15 for the first semester leaves, of the semester nearest and preceding the expiration of the leave of absence, the District shall notify the unit member who is on a leave of absence that his/her position is being held pending notification of request for extension of leave or notification of intention to return from leave. Such notification shall be sent by U.S. mail to the unit member's last known address.
