Common use of Disruption Allowance Clause in Contracts

Disruption Allowance. Effective the date of ratification, an employee who is mandated to work beyond their scheduled shift shall receive a Disruption Allowance that is equal to: Article 13 General Holidays‌ 13:01 The following are recognized as general holidays for purposes of this Agreement: 13:02 If a general holiday falls on a day on which an employee is receiving income protection benefits, it shall be paid as a general holiday and not deducted from income protection credits. 13:03 An employee who is required to work on a general holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the basic rate of pay. 13:04 Part time employees shall be paid five percent (5%) of their basic rate of pay in lieu of time off on general holidays. Such pay shall be included in each regular pay cheque. 13:05 A full-time employee who is required to work on a general holiday is entitled to an additional day off with pay in lieu of the holiday, or an additional days pay. 13:06 Full-time employees shall be allowed to maintain up to forty (40) hours in lieu of general holidays for the employee’s future use, at a time mutually agreed to between the employee and the Employer. The employee should provide a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice for requests of time off.
