Common use of Crib Break Clause in Contracts

Crib Break. (i) An employee required to work overtime on a week day for two hours or more after the usual ceasing time shall be allowed to take a crib time of twenty minutes in duration immediately after such ceasing time, or at another time convenient to employee and Company. (ii) Where an employee is eligible to take a crib break, the General Purpose Allowance contained in clause 14 C includes provision for a payment for the break as well as a meal allowance. (iii) For each subsequent four hours of continuous overtime work, he shall be allowed to take a further crib time of 30 minutes in duration, Payment for such crib breaks is incorporated in the General Purpose Allowance provided in clause 14 C.
