Course Preparations. No instructor shall be assigned more than three different course preparations within his/her workload in any semester without his/her consent.

Course Preparations. No teacher shall be required to take more than three (3) different preparations per semester without notification and consultation with the teacher before the previous semester ends. If a teacher is assigned more than three (3) preparations, upon request, the teacher may be assigned as a resource teacher for that teacher's one- half (½) period daily Supervisory assignment.
Course Preparations. A. A course preparation shall be defined as a three (3) credit hour or higher course. A course that includes a lecture and clinical supervision will be considered a prep only for those Bargaining Unit Members assigned the lecture component. In any academic year, multiple sections of the same course shall be considered one (1) prep. Multiple courses taught at the same time by any one Bargaining Unit Member shall be considered one (1) prep.

For Middle School homeroom the number of different course preparations shall not normally exceed four (4) per day. Block classes shall be recognized as two (2) separate courses. Hi-CAP classes are to count as a single course preparation. Teachers may voluntarily agree to accept additional preparations exceeding the above limits. Participation in a teacher-student advisory program shall not be construed as a course preparation. PRIDE shall be recognized as a class/course. A teacher exceeding three (3) different course preparations as provided above may request assistance directly to the building principal for the purposes of obtaining relief of said subject preparations and related classroom/student requirements. Assistance will be provided consistent with the needs of relief to which the teacher and the administration agree. Such relief may include release time.
