Continuous Schedules Clause Samples
Continuous Schedules. Nurses working where seven (7) day week schedules are in effect shall be governed by the following:
A. There shall be no split shifts. No nurse shall be scheduled to work the night shift (or at night) immediately preceding a weekend off. Every reasonable effort shall be made by the Appointing Authority so that no nurse shall be scheduled for a combination of more than four (4) start times during a payroll period.
B. Every reasonable effort shall be made by the Appointing Authority so that no nurse shall be scheduled for a combination of more than two (2) shifts during three (3) payroll periods.
C. Nurses shall be scheduled to work no more than seven (7) consecutive calendar days except in emergencies, and nurses normally shall be scheduled for two (2) consecutive days off.
D. Every reasonable effort shall be made by the Appointing Authority to establish work schedules that will provide nurses every other weekend off.
E. Nurses other than intermittent nurses in continuous operations whose schedules are changed within the 14-day posting period shall receive time and one-half in accordance with Sections 7 and 8 for those hours worked before or after the previously scheduled hours and on a previously scheduled day of rest. Part-time nurses in continuous operations whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours, whose schedules are changed within the 14-day posting period shall receive time and one-half in accordance with Sections 7 and 8 for those hours worked on a previously scheduled day of rest or for those hours assigned and worked beyond the normal work day.

Except for emergencies, a nurse cannot be assigned mandatory overtime after their last scheduled shift before an approved leave (approved leave includes vacation, sick leave, compensatory time, or holiday leave). Every reasonable effort shall be made by the Appointing Authority so that no nurse shall be scheduled for a combination of more than four
Continuous Schedules. The standard plant hours of work will be established on the basis of a continuous operation. Each work week consists of seven (7) working days. There will be two (2) shifts per day of twelve (12) hours each.
a) Schedules - An employee will be scheduled to work either three (3) or four (4) shifts per calendar week. Normally, an employee will have four (4) days off following the completion of a four shift cycle of work. Such scheduling shall be carried out over a period of eight (8) consecutive weeks, in the manner set out in Schedule “A”.
