Computation of Service. For purposes of determining an Employee's eligibility to participate under Section 2.1, the computation period initially to be taken into account to determine whether the Employee has completed a Year of Service shall be the 12-month period commencing with the date of the Employee's Employment. In the event that the Employee fails to be credited with at least 1,000 Hours of Service during this initial computation period, the eligibility computation period shall be the first Plan Year commencing after the Employee's date of Employment and succeeding Plan Years. If the Employee is credited with at least 1,000 Hours of Service during the 12-month period commencing with the date of the Employee's Employment, the computation period used to determine whether the Employee has been credited with the second Year of Service, shall be the 12- month period beginning on the first anniversary of the Employee's Employment commencement date and, if necessary, succeeding years based on the Employee's date of Employment.
