Common use of Compensation Rate Clause in Contracts

Compensation Rate. ‌ Salary continuance benefits shall be paid at the rate of pay the employee earned on the last workday before an absence due to illness, injury or other disability. No change in the rate of pay shall be made while an employee is on salary continuance. An employee may use accumulated annual leave to supplement the salary continuance hours, but in no instance shall the total number of hours exceed the hours normally associated with the employee’s base salary.
