Common use of Comparable Job Clause in Contracts

Comparable Job. An employee, who has rejected a job offer where any of the following apply, will not forfeit their right to: a) continued preference for open positions for which they are qualified; or b) severance pay; or, c) layoff: 1) The FTE of the offered position is more than a .2 FTE reduction; 2) The base pay of the position is greater than a 5% reduction; 3) The change in the start of the shift is greater than two (2) hours; An employee, who has rejected a job offer where any of the above does NOT apply, will be considered to have voluntarily resigned; 4) An employee who has rejected a job offer that results in a loss of employee medical coverage or dependant medical coverage may continue in preference for open positions for which they are qualified or request to be placed on the recall roster.
