Certificated Extra-Duty Contracts. Under normal circumstances if an extra-duty contract is going to be issued to a returning staff member, it shall be issued and approved before the end of the school year. Any returning staff member not notified otherwise by the end of the school year shall have their extra duty contracts renewed. If unusual circumstances (such as a levy failure) exist, the issuance of contracts may be delayed. A vacancy in an extra-curricular activity, duty or position exists when the employed person resigns or is notified by the District that they shall not be offered the position. When a vacancy exists in an extra-curricular activity, duty or position, it shall be posted within the District in a timely manner with the purpose of giving certificated employees the opportunity to apply for the position. Open positions shall normally be posted at least ten (10) days prior to the activity and issued at least five (5) days prior to beginning the activity.
