Common use of Alternative Work Schedules Clause in Contracts

Alternative Work Schedules. The Employer recognizes the value of an Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) for both the Employer and the employee in certain situations. Any commander who believes that a new AWS would be mutually beneficial to the Department and those employees who would be affected shall submit a proposal to implement that schedule, through the chain of command to their respective Bureau Chief, and to the Labor Relations Director for dissemination to SLEOLA. All requests must outline the benefit to the organization and employees. All employees may be eligible to participate in an AWS when the benefit to the Department can be clearly demonstrated.
