Advanced Vacation. A. No member of the Cincinnati Fire Department can take any vacation beyond that already earned except in the most unusual cases. Request must be submitted to the Human Resources Bureau Assistant Chief on Form 25-S. No advanced vacation shall be approved without a written agreement by the employee that he will reimburse the City if he leaves City service before earning the credit taken.

Advanced Vacation. Employee's pay for annual holidays to which the employee is entitled shall be paid in one payment to the employee at least one day before the beginning of the employee's annual holiday, provided a written request for advance pay has been made to the Payroll Department one week in advance of such holiday. Where an employee has mutually agreed with the immediate unit supervisor to take their annual holiday entitlement in one unbroken holiday period or any combination of five (5) consecutive working days, payment for the employee's annual holidays shall be in accordance with this section.
Advanced Vacation. Subject to the conditions of this provision, Employees will be able to take all eligible vacation time in advance of earning it (see example below). In the event an Employee separates from employment and he or she has taken vacation not yet earned, the advanced hours will be deducted from the final paycheck if state law permits. Employees may not take more vacation than they would have accrued in the calendar year. The Employee must sign the appropriate "Request for Vacation" form prior to being allowed to use advanced but unearned vacation.

Pay In order for employees to receive vacation pay in advance, the Personnel Action Form reporting vacations to be taken must be received in the Finance Department at least one week before the day of last payroll distribution before the start of vacation to allow for the drawing of the check.
