Acting Captain. Candidates for the Acting Captain’s position shall have a minimum of 3-1/2 years in fire suppression and be qualified as an Acting Engineer. The purpose of the Acting Captain’s position is to assume the role of Captain and provide the leadership that is required to carry out the goals and objectives of the organization and to provide for professional development. Qualification as Acting Captain may be approved upon completing the Acting Captain’s check-off list, recommendation of Battalion Chief and by successfully completing a review board consisting of the Chief Training Officer, Shift Battalion Chief and Shift Training Captain. All check-off items shall be signed by a Company Officer or Battalion Chief.
