In-patient means a person admitted to a hospital as a resident or bed- patient and who is provided at least one day's room and board by the hospital.
Patient means a person who is undergoing medical or other treatment as an in-patient in any hospital or similar institution;
Outpatient means an individual examined and evaluated by a prescriber who determined the individual’s need for the administration of a drug or device, which individual presents to the hospital outpatient setting with a prescription or order for administration of a drug or device. “Outpatient” does not include an emergency department patient.
Patients means any person who was a previous or is a prospective or current patient of Medical Practice.
Inpatient means an Insured Person who is Confined.
Eligible patient means a patient who a pharmacist determines is eligible to receive an immunization using professional judgment after consulting with the patient regarding the patient's current health condition, recent health condition, and allergies.
Licensed health care practitioner means a physician, as defined in Section 1861(r)(1) of the Social Security Act, a registered professional nurse, licensed social worker or other individual who meets requirements prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury.
Day Patient means an Insured Person receiving Medical Services or treatments given in a medical clinic, day case procedure centre or Hospital where the Insured Person is not in Confinement.
Licensed health care professional means a person who possesses a professional medical license that is valid in Oregon. Examples include, but are not limited to, a registered nurse (RN), nurse practitioner (NP), licensed practical nurse (LPN), medical doctor (MD), osteopathic physician (DO), respiratory therapist (RT), physical therapist (PT), physician assistant (PA), or occupational therapist (OT).
Licensed health care provider means a physician, physician assistant, chiropractor, advanced registered nurse practitioner, nurse, physical therapist, or athletic trainer licensed by a board.
Antipsychotic medications means that class of drugs primarily used to treat serious manifestations of mental illness associated with thought disorders, which includes, but is not limited to atypical antipsychotic medications;
Psychotherapy means the professional treatment or counseling of a mental or emotional illness, symptom, or condition.
Hospice means a health care program that provides a coordinated set of services rendered at home or in outpatient or institutional settings for individuals suffering from a disease or condition with a terminal prognosis.
Licensed mental health professional or "LMHP" means a licensed physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, licensed marriage and family therapist, or certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist.
Behavioral therapy means any interactive therapy derived from evidence-based research, including, without limitation, discrete trial training, early intensive behavioral intervention, intensive intervention programs, pivotal response training and verbal behavior provided by a licensed psychologist, licensed behavior analyst, licensed assistant behavior analyst or certified autism behavior interventionist.
Medicare Provider Agreement means an agreement entered into between CMS or other such entity administering the Medicare program on behalf of CMS, and a health care provider or supplier under which the health care provider or supplier agrees to provide services for Medicare patients in accordance with the terms of the agreement and Medicare Regulations.
In-patient Care means treatment for which the insured person has to stay in a hospital for more than 24 hours for a covered event.
Outpatient status means the status of a servicemember assigned to (a) a military medical treatment facility as an outpatient; or (b) a unit established for the purpose of providing command and control of members of the Armed Forces receiving medical care as outpatients.
Qualified patient means a capable adult who is a resident of Oregon and has satisfied the requirements of ORS 127.800 to 127.897 in order to obtain a prescription for medication to end his or her life in a humane and dignified manner.
Qualifying patient means a person who has been diagnosed by a physician as having a debilitating medical condition.
Residential Treatment Center for Children and Adolescents means a child-care institution that provides residential care and treatment for emotionally disturbed children and adolescents and that is accredited as a residential treatment center by the Council on Accreditation, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, or the American Association of Psychiatric Services for Children.
Intensive Care Unit means an identified section, ward or wing of a hospital which is under the constant supervision of a dedicated medical practitioner(s), and which is specially equipped for the continuous monitoring and treatment of patients who are in a critical condition, or require life support facilities and where the level of care and supervision is considerably more sophisticated and intensive than in the ordinary and other wards.
Psychotropic medication means medication the prescribed intent of which is to affect or alter thought processes, mood, or behavior including but not limited to anti-psychotic, antidepressant, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), and behavior medications. The classification of a medication depends upon its stated, intended effect when prescribed.

Psychotherapist ’ means a physician and surgeon specializing in the practice of psychiatry or practicing psychotherapy, a psychologist, a clinical so cial worker, a marriage and family therapist, a psychological assistant, marriage and family therapist registered intern or trainee, or associate clinical social worker.
